I mean Hurst was pretty bad the last two years so it could be addition by subtraction, but it does mean that either some of our depth needs to really step up and/or we need lots of help on the OL in this draft. We really need Saldiveri to earn a starting spot at LG or Penning to learn to play LG while drafting an OT and signing Peat and/or Becton.

I wonder if he decided to retire before or after he took the pay cut. He's already earned $27m in his career, another $1.2m may not have been worth another year of the NFL grind.

The need just got bigger. Saints should be on the phone right now with Peat to lock him down and bring him back into the fold. Shouldn't just be relying on the draft and then who might be available afterwards. Shore this thing up some now Loomis.

Hurst was just depth, but the issue is with Peat gone and the reports of Ram's weight loss... the Saints did not have much at OT for starters and now lose a depth guy as well. One of the weakest positions for the Saints just got weaker.
