Here’s the biggest question for New Orleans Saints’ second-round pick Kool-Aid McKinstry is where will he play in 2024. For now, Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo are the starting corners on the outside with Alontae Taylor manning the slot. Where does McKinstry fit into that picture as a rookie?

When New Orleans traded up to select the Alabama cornerback, Lattimore was the next person who jumped to many peoples’ minds. Some disregarded Adebo as a threat to start, mostly national media, while some said this sealed Lattimore’s fate as a trade candidate this summer. For multiple reasons...

The New Orleans Saints made their inevitable trade up at the beginning of the second round, jumping from 45 to 41 to select Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB from Alabama.

Here are five things to know about the Saints new cornerback:

When Kool-Aid McKinstry showed up to the NFL Combine, he, like everyone else, had to go through medical exams, and the found he had a Jones fracture in his right foot.

He didn’t miss a single game this season, so it’s unclear exactly when this injury happened, but it’s expected that he will be a full go for training camp.

In 2023, McKinstry was named a first-team...

The New Orleans Saints traded up in the second round of the NFL Draft with the Green Bay Packers to select cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama.

McKinstry has been rated as high as the number one cornerback in the class on some boards making him a desired pick for many teams. Head coach Dennis Allen was surprised he slipped so far and traded a fourth and fifth-round pick to jump four spots and secure the selection.

The best part of McKinstry’s game is his play IQ. He offers great communication before the snap and during the play. He is disciplined and patient in coverage keeping...

Now that’s certainly something. The New Orleans Saints traded up to the 41st pick in the draft’s second round in the 2024 NFL Draft. With that pick, they selected Alabama cornerback Ga’Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry.

Per Nick Underhill of neworleans.football, the Saints sent picks 45, 168, and 190 to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for the pick.

Kool-Aid McKinstry was an absolute dawg for the Crimson Tide. He played with them for three years, playing in 38 games. During that time, he gathered 62 total tackles and two interceptions. He was also named first-team All-American in 2023, and...

The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner and Scott Dochterman took on the tough task of grading every pick all 32 NFL teams made in the first three rounds of the 2024 NFL draft, and their early reviews are very positive for the New Orleans Saints.

Which is very encouraging to hear, seeing as the Saints have only made two picks so far. They need to get the most out of first-round right tackle Taliese Fuaga and second-round cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, so this is at least a good start. Here’s what Baumgardner wrote of Fuaga’s fit at No. 14:

Here’s why Dochterman says the Saints earned such a...

Day 2 of the 2024 NFL draft is now behind us and each team in the NFC South has added at least one player to their squad. There was a lot of trading going on as each team tried to walk away with their guys. No pick was as head-scratching as the Atlanta Falcons taking Michael Penix Jr. at No. 8 overall in the first round (though they tried their best).

But how did the New Orleans Saints compare to the Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers after Day 2? Here is what each team walked away with in our latest draft grades:

2024 NFL draft: 30 best players remaining on Day 3

We have a good idea of what the New Orleans Saints are looking for in the NFL draft. Their archetypes and athletic profiles are pretty well-defined; they want big athletes who move well for their size, and who often come from high-profile college programs. Leadership roles and participation in all-star games like the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl are a plus. Athletic testing provides key data points, too.

So with that in mind, we’ve narrowed down the list of prospects going into the 2024 draft’s third and final day. The Saints are going to make several picks on Day 3 and it’s highly likely they’ll try to trade up into Round 4, given their multiple selections in Round 5, 6, and 7. These 30 prospects check the boxes and should be on New Orleans’ radar:

The Atlanta Falcons put themselves in the middle of controversy to kick off the 2024 NFL draft by picking Michael Penix Jr. just one month after they signed quarterback Kirk Cousins to a landmark free agent contract — and New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen wants it known that’s a landmine his team wasn’t about to step on.

Dueling reports have said the Saints were among teams looking to trade up into the top 10 picks, targeting Penix, while local outlets have said those conversations never happened. When asked whether they had explored that trade, as had been reported, Allen...

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went defense in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft as they select defensive end Chris Braswell at No. 57 overall.

Braswell has a chance to contribute immediately in the pass rush. He was hidden behind a lot of talent at Alabama for the past few years, but finally started opposite Dallas Turner in 2023. He had eight sacks and 10.5 total tackles for a loss last season with the Crimson Tide.

It fills a need as they lost Shaq Barrett to free agency and it was a solid value. He isn’t the flashiest player but gets the job done. Tampa Bay has now addressed both...
