FedEx is barely trying anymore. (1 Viewer)

We were staying at a vrbo in Key Largo last month and received a package for an address down the street. Doing the neighborly thing, we walked down to bring it, they were having a loudish party on the dock and we finally got the attention of this skinny little older man. My husband yells over the music and a vicious looking dog that we have his package. The man smiles and yells "My Viagra!!", clearly extatic. He then proceeds to tell us about all of the man elixirs he orders online while demonstrating his sexual prowess with his hips.
Then his life story, yadayada it never ended. Try to keep a straight face!
It was bizarre and hilarious at the same time and I think even added to my vacation experience.
At the time, those moments are excruciating- but afterwards it’s time well spent bc the story

i get overnight deliveries from Amazon periodically now that they opened that distribution center in baton rouge.
They were quieter this time
Open door for dog walk around 5
There was a big box (like if you were packing a big microwave) sitting there right on the porch
Clearly the person did not walk up the three stairs to the porch, just put the box down (costume pieces for my wife’s play, so very light)
The placement seemed designed for maximum visibility from the street

The Fedex people around here have to try very hard or they fail. Failing around here can mean walking home while a tow truck gets your van out of a deep ravine.

They drive up from the highway in the gorge for two miles up a steep one lane county road to the top, then turn on a narrow half mile long private road, then a 10th of mile up my steep driveway to a place where if they don't know what they're doing they can't get turned around to return.

All of them manage to get their vans turned around, or they back them back down the 10th mile drive about as fast as I normally drive down it going forward. Experts they are.

We have hard rains, snow, and mud, trees fall down on the road. Critters to run over, and a few who are too big to run over, it will often ruin even a big a truck if the truck hit a bear going too fast for example. Hot, cold, earthquakes, fire and flood, we have it all. It's delivery driver hell around here.

It's a paradise for me.
