If branding as Salt Lake City:
Scones (Dessert theme)
Slopes (skiing and/or mathematical theme)
Seamen could be interesting, but not a lot of water around there.
Supplements

If branding as Utah:
Ubiquitons
Ulcers
Urologists

What about Pioneers? It would be a nod more towards Utah's "old Western" late 19th century emigrant, gold-rush, adventurers who traveled to, through, and some settled in Utah Territories during the California Gold Rushes or other gold or silver prospectors later in the 19th century (particularly Nevada's silver rush boon of the 1870's and 80's), before Las Vegas, before Bugsy Siegel and the "Chicago outfit" bought, built and consolidated most of the original Las Vegas Strip casinos and controlled them via proxy until the 1980's, Silver was and still kind of remains Nevada's biggest, mineral export and is what put it on the map, it helped build Carson, Reno as mining communities.

Then there's the Mountain Lions or Cougars: I know BYU sort of already has the Cougar name trademarked and marketed, but Utah is still a highly mountainous, elevated state with variety of different mountain lions, cougars, Bears up out their in the wild, rural areas.

The Miners might also be a good, historically accurate, region-specific name as a nod again to Utah's "Old Western" gold/silver rushs in the mid-to-late 19th century. I don't know if it works as an NHL team name, but its one to consider.

I think the "Miners" is a great suggestion.

Ah well, Pens hopes are now officially ded.
Way to go Torts…great coaching for Philly.

Guess I’ll be rooting for Carolina as I think they have the best chance to take down the Rangers and/or Bruins.

PS- Jeff Carter, retire in Prosperity.
