Trips -- Glad to have u back.

Know if there were any contract news, it would have been reported. So question is not on the results BUT the process. Are contracts negotiated simultaneously or sequentially?

Thanks, glad to be back ...
In general, contracts are always negotiated simultaneously. If a player agrees to the right number, the Saints could just as easily re-sign Tracy Porter or Robert Meachem before anyone else. For example, look at least year when they got deals done with free agents Garrett Hartley and Pierre Thomas just before the lockout.

But this year, I think there would be motivation to get Drew Brees' deal done first because it will let the Saints know exactly how much salary-cap space they have to work with and more importantly, whether or not they have the franchise tag at their disposal. If Brees' deal isn't done by the March 5 franchise tag deadline, the Saints have to use the tag on him.
