The news Tuesday of Ricky Williams' retirement continues an interesting debate that's followed the controversial runner since the Saints' first drafted him in 1999.
Was he a bust or not?
It's a compelling question, and I think both sides can make a case.
Even though Williams rushed for 10,009 career yards, he also pretty much wrecked a pair of franchises with his eccentricities.
His New Orleans Saints career was tarnished by social issues which ultimately forced the club to trade him three years later.
