Win it for my entire family..We have been to so many games and treated so badly, that it would take that pain away. For my brother and I who cried like baby's with about 30 secs left in the game Sat. For my wife who has endured my bad mood week after week, year after year, and is loving the joy this year has brought us. For all the saints fans that have waited their entire lives for this.

I find this hard to write...
almost impossible...
Win it for me...I had season tickets from the very beginning; until August 26, 2005 vs. the Ravens in Preseason...two days later the world changed..
Grew up in Gentilly, Four blocks from Brother Martin, well, Cor Jesu at the time, but I attended Holy Cross because that is what the men in my family did. Tradition! HC will move soon because of the storm and destruction of a neighborhood. So much for that tradition.
As a small child I remember a president named Kennedy who said, "ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country," a mayor named Schiro who said, "If it's good for New Orleans...I'm for it!" I even caught Rex doubloons on Mardi Gras day emblazened with the motto "Pro Bono Publico."
I always thought it was my place to try to make things better. I went to college to become a teacher to "make things better." Survived the ordeal of almost thirty years of working for New Orleans Public Schools...I still have the un-graded tests I gave that Friday of the Raven's pre-season game...I took them with me during the evacuation and left things that I can never replace.
I worked with the Touchdown Club to raise money for local charities, wherever I could I tried...
When the storm hit I was living in Arabi...When people ask now if I had any water I always answer,"Yes, eighteen inches [pause] on the second floor." I lost everything. There were no job to come home to and home was a job that was beyond me to repair. Family is done by e-mail now, some back in Louisiana; some as far as Georgia and Virginia. I am in Houston. I've built a house and am trying to build a home. I teach in a school here that took in more New Orleans kids than any other.
I've put togerher a group of people here that watch the games together at a local sports bar; at least I call us the "Hou-Dats," taken from the screen name of a fellow member here (right, Rick) I hope one day the "Hou-Dats" can develop into something more...because I am who I am....
so there...actually it was difficult to start but just poured out once started...I guess I needed to say all this...
so Saints...please win...win for all of us who would never wear a bag;all of us who laughed at the sign that someone changed in Hammond -it read, "I-55" and then in spray paint "Saints 3" while all the time our guts were twisting inside at loss after loss. Win for my mom who caused me to listen to all games on WWL because according to her the Saints have never deserved a penalty and was VERY VOCAL ABOUT IT...those ear phones help!
Win for yourselves; but if you have a moment...please, please win it for me!

Win it for every Saints fan who's had to endure the catcalls and insults from folks who don't understand what it's like to unconditionally love a team no matter how much misery it puts you through. Fairweather isn't in our vocabulary....if we were going to quit on this team....we'd have done it a long time ago!
Win it so that the Saints will no longer be one of the 3 clubs (Arizona, Cleveland) that have never been to a Super Bowl....So that RICKY JACKSON will have a better chance at the Hall.
Win it for my grandfather, who in his later years virtually bedridden taught me alot about football that I didn't know while I watched the Saints with him...he died in 1993.....
Win it for ME and my Sig Other......we travelled to New Orleans 9 times this season from Memphis, spending lots of money, missing out on alot of rest and driving more hours than anyone should have to....because we just KNEW this season was special.....I thought about selling my tickets a couple of times.....but just couldn't do it!
Win it for Louisiana......folks in other states simply don't respect my homestate.....show them that by God Louisiana can produce a WINNER that doesn't wear Purple and Gold!

Win it for my mother. She bought me my first George Rogers uniform (even sewed on the numbers). Our Broadmoor home took seven feet of flooding, yet she moved back into it in November, becoming the first person on her block to move back. She lives alone since I moved to Texas in 2001. She spent thirteen weeks away from New Orleans after Katrina: with me in Dallas, with family in Missouri, and with more family in Austin, and back with me again.....all with one small suitcase of clothes plus more that she bought at a Fort Worth Walmart. When she moved back, she had to sleep in that nasty, crooked house, only to be made better when new furniture, new carpet, and new matresses could be delivered, however many months later. Her garden was destoyed, the 40-foot pinetree which had my childhood basketball hoop nailed to it, was cut down. Neighbors' houses are still abandoned. The house is still crooked. She talks of moving away from New Orleans, her home since 1967, because our city keeps re-electing idiots to public office. She's been employed by Tulane University for forty years this year. She took me to a card shop when I was a kid to get autographs by Tom Dempsey and Hokie Gajan. She is 62 years old, five foot two inches tall, 100 lbs. And she's the strongest woman i've ever met.
And win it for me too!

Win it for the New Orleans Area and the gulf south, so all of us who still live here can keep just about the only thing we haven't lost: HOPE.

All us longsuffering, "non-bag heads", who have pulled for and supported this team for every year of its existence proving our commitment to, and love for, the SAINTS.
And win it for yourselves as players, search inside yourself for WHATEVER motivates you at the deepest level and play for that.

Win it for all of us here. Especially the SuperDome's out there. Here in the Hammond / Ponchatoula area, my brothers, (both deceased), and my brother in-law, (who's killin me), got so tired of saying "next year". Every year, (mostly), we thought it was.
Please, dear lord, let this be the year, for all the years.

Win it for ARCHIE! Though I'm in a quandry whether to pull for the Colts to win so we (if we win it for Archie) play Peyton in the BIg Show or for the Patsys to win so he doesn't have to have his son play his old team (but in truth, I don't want the Patsys to make the S-Bowl again).

Win it for the DOME PATROL!
Still the greatest assembly of Linebreakers in NFL history (I don't care what Giants fans say). Win it for them so some sports guy somewhere will do an article to bring them up again, particularly Sam Mills, may he rest in peace.
Win it for Sam!
Win it for Vaughn!

Great thread....several posts brought tears to my eyes.
Mods, is there a way that this can be made a sticky? IMO this is the best thread on the board right now.
I think my wonderful husband summed up who I would want them to win it for. I'd like them to also win it for him, who has made such a complete transformation to die-hard Saints fan (and don't give Bum all the credit, love!! ), and never questioned getting season tickets right after we got married; for braving the Eagles fans at the old Vet, dressed as DatMan; for searching endlessly for a place to watch the Saints games in New Jersey; for waiting in line (in costume of course) to get into the NFL draft to cheer whoever the Saints would pick....
Again, what an OUTSTANDING thread this is....it is really showing what Saints fans are all about.

This thread has me all choked up.
Win it for the best group of fans any team could ever wish to have. Win it for those who bleed black and gold. Win it for those who thought they'd never cheer a championship but loved their team nonetheless. Win it for every person, Saints fan or not, who has had a hard go at life and whose been told to just accept their lowly position in life and who no one ever gave a chance. Show them that the hopeless can be turned into the hopeful with nothing more than hard work and determination (well you've already shown us that).

win it for my best friend billy, who plays exclusively with the saints on Madden, and is constantly bagged on by his opponents at all the tournaments. i know that he could destroy everyone there if he picked another, more successful team, but he wont. if this year is the year of the saints, then the next madden game to come out will allow billy to dominate at the madden challenge.
win it for all my people down in the Da Parish, who refuse to let half of their town become green space.
win it for my friend Danny Munch. the guy is still in a FEMA trailer in front of his gutted house, letting a bunch of my friends live with him, and working at the Folgers plant on Michoud. but every time i visit, he yells out WHO DAT and then tells me about how many times he saw me on TV.
in fact, win it for all the people who fly SAINTS flags from the roof of their FEMA trailers.
win it for my pappy. hes 75 years old and rebuilding his house in chalmette, solo. ive helped him gut it, and put up some insulation, but aside from that, he refuses to pay a 'professional" to do work that he thinks he can do with more care and attention to detail (hes right too). i brought him to the first eagles game with me, and that was the first time hes ever been to the dome for a saints game. he went to tulane stadium a few times, but to see the look of total awe on his face in our "outdated" dome, was priceless.
win it for that eagles fan who said "optimus prime sucks!". and that other eagles fan who said "you must have wasted a lot of time making that costume". yeah buddy, but not as much time as you wasted flying down to NOLA just to see your team get beat, twice.
win it for Al Micheals who said "well i didnt want to believe, but i guess they ARE for real" while we were letting the steam out of the cowboys superbowl hype.
win it for all the people who said "optimus prime has nothing to do with the saints", when the whole point of the costume was to show how the saints were TRANSFORMING from losers to champions this year. sure i looked foolish at the falcons game, but its not so foolish now.

Win it for my favorite Saints as a kid; the guys I got autographs from as a little girl....Billy Kilmer, Danny Abramowicz.....and for all the Saints of the past. Win it for Stan Brock, who survived that 1-15 season to see better times for the team. Win it for all those wonderful Saints in the Saints Hall of Fame, who deserved a season such as this one.

Jacksonville and Texans. I could be wrong but St. Louis (Cards) and Cleveland have played in NFL championship games in the past.
Win this one for the Whodat Nation. We've all got our stories of pain, agony and woe. But we've all hung in long enough to get a championship (even if it's just a conference championship for now).

win it for all the reasons that they sweated and toiled under the brutal Mississippi sun. Reasons like... pride, discipline, selflessnes, integrity, re-birth, the Fans and most of all so that one day 20 years from now all these players and fans that will still be here can all know that they were part of something that transcends most every barrier... Doing something to restore people's happiness!!

Texans? They have a team in Tejas other than the Cowboys? Thanks again for Bush boys!
Certainly right about Jacksonville though...I forgot about them and the Texans.....I won't discount Championships before the Superbowl era...but thats what I was referring too! I think that even Detroit (another team I forgot, honestly) won NFL championships before the Superbowl era.....
Oh....and win it for Charlton Heston and David Allen Grier.....they were both in movies that featured the Saints.....
