ANYONE....and I mean ANYONE whoever doubted the effect of an NFL team on this city needs to watch this video until their eyes bleed.

I sometimes have to sit back and try to fully capture what all is going on here.
I lived in NOLA for 5 years. I suffered 1st-hand the effects that Katrina had on this region. I witnessed the racial tensions that have plagued this city ad nauseum.
My experiences, however, are drops in the bucket compared to those who lost loved ones during the storm. My length of stay in New Orleans was a needle in a haystack compared to those who grew up in NOLA.

But my affection for this city - oft-tested in a myriad ways - is undying.
My affection for this city is proven by this video alone.
I see white people, black people, young people, old people, dogs, cats, goldfish....aunts, uncles, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, you name it.

I see happy people. I see people who have nothing but undying affection for a team that has given people something else to think about. I see people cheering on a team after so much futility because of 13 games.

13 games is not a long span. After this season, neither is 32 years of oft-maligned football. Bring on the Colts.
