Matt Flynn!!!!
My boy Matt Flynn just came in to complete a meaningless pass in the Packers Vikings mega-matchup! Woo!!!!!!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!
The announcers were yacking away about how awesome the Saints are and then all of a sudden I hear Matt Flynn completes a pass, and I was like whaaaaat? Wooo! I then rewound it, and sure enough! There he was! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!! Hearing announcers in a non-Saints game talking about how great the Saints are and watching my boy Matt Flynn complete a pass in the NFL just made my night!
I know many on this board hate the guy and think he's terrible, but I don't care. I absolutely love the guy and I'm happy he's still playing football. Hopefully this board will be mature enough to show the former tiger some love in this thread. I know most won't care about this thread, but seeing it made me really happy so I had to post it. Hopefully some other tiger fans on here will be happy to know Flynn is still in the NFL completing passes.
Also, did anyone see Addai throw a touchdown pass for the Colts to help win the game today?
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!

Yeah he beat out Brohm for the backup spot. Props to him for that.

Hey, MF was a Tiger Great. He always gave 110%, he was loyal through and through to LSU, he was ALWAYS an extremely positive representative for LSU, he won a national championship for us, he never tried to transfer or waver from his committment to LSU due to JR. He always wanted to be a tiger even if it meant potentially never playing as a starter. What is wrong with being happy for the guy? He's in the NFL as the backup quarterback for a pretty good team and he's beaten out some great competition to stay in the NFL this long. He's one of my favorite players for LSU because he's always had class and just did things the right way.
I would ask you to tell me how I've lost my mind, but I'm not going to let you ruin the moment. I'm really happy for the guy and there's nothing wrong with that.

Did you just realize that he was the backup at GB or something?
I'm happy he's the backup at GB too, but to start a thread because he got into a decided game in garbage time? Not sure it's worth it. But hey, the SSF amazes me weekly on what some people think is thread worthy.

Honestly, never thought I'd actually see him play football again. I knew he beat out Brohm forever ago, but didn't know he was still in the NFL or still the backup.
But come on! Matt Flynn completing a pass during the same time the announcers are talking about how the Saints are the premier team in the NFL during a packers/vikings matchup featuring the biggest headline all year pitting brett favre against aaron rodgers? What are the odds of THAT happening? THAT'S FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!
GEAUX TIGERS AND GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!

Why do you keep saying "geaux tigers"? I'm pretty sure Flynn and Addai don't play for LSU anymore.

So there's a rule out there saying that people should automatically quit caring about a player after they leave the team?
QUICK! Someone please notify the packer fans that they can't mention or care about Brett Favre anymore since he left the Packers to play for other teams. And someone send a memo to the Saint's that we can't have anymore threads on this board about Joe Horn or Stecker or Aaron Brooks or Deuce, etc... They don't exist anymore guys! They aren't on the Saints team anymore, can't talk about them! They've vanished off the radar and we are not allowed to care what they do anymore guys! Pack it up, pack it up! Those 5 TRILLION posts on the internet about Brett Favre playing for another team and going back to play against his own team and everything else related to Brett Favre not playing for the packers anymore must be deleted PROMPTO... Favre threads NEVER should have been written by packer fans from the moment he left the team... Twenty4seven declared it a rule guys, so go back and please delete all of those posts immediately.

I never said you couldn't or shouldn't care about them. By all means, hang another poster of Flynn on your wall. But to shout out GEAUX TIGERS every time a former LSU makes a play in the NFL is just silly.

Last year was his first year in the NFL. You make it sound as though he has been around since the days of Montana.
His career totals are 4-8 for 21 yards. Not exactly what I would call "still around completing passes"......

It always amazes me what people will celebrate on this board.
Mop up duty is now thread worthy??
I understand you still love the guy, but reading this, I really thought it was schtick it was so ridiculously over the top.
I mean, if you love Flynn, post about the Florida game in '07 or something or the title game against Ohio St. Praising his completion in mop up duty is hardly doing the guy's accomplishments at LSU justice.
