Wow, thanks for the heads up! We've been watching this a bit half heartedly and didn't even check this morning.

I hate moving all the wife's giant plants. Do i spend 2 hours moving em for nothing, or get griped at for two weeks because they all came crashing down?

What's worries me is there are alot of oil companies/drilling companies taking this storm lightly, and not pulling the plug due to the fact that the storm is "not expected" to do much, leaving thousands of offshore workers in possible harm's way. Now if this same storm would've have popped up just a couple months ago, you would have seen a mass evacuation offshore.

THe Watch does include the City of New Orleans. THe watch follows coastline not longitude and latitude. If you trace the coastline we are included!

Louisiana is on the "good" side of the storm. Worst weather and highest tides will be to our east. Sea surface temperatures are below 80 degrees in the Gulf. Some bad weather possible, but this isn't a big deal. The approaching cool front will recurve this to the east. Our friends in Tampa may get some bad weather later in the week. They might win today, don't be shocked. TWC is really going downhill since NBC purchase it. Never mind all this, back to football.

There have been a couple hurricanes in December but they were way off shore and barely made it to hurricane.
In November there have only been 6 major hurricanes on record. All 6 were way out in the Atlantic.
There have only been 4 hurricanes that made a US landfall in November, all of them were minimal cat 1 hurricanes.
Ida will be encountering a ton of sheer and will be lucky to be a hurricane when she makes landfall. NOLA shouldn't be impacted much, if any.

I'm too busy discussing the game this afternoon, and explaining why we'll win...
Seriously, thanks for the headsup on this, WNLU...good idea to post it here in the SSF so that more people will be aware, especially since this thing snuck up on us.

I wish this was the case. I work in logistics for a major and we have pulled in hundreds of people today.
