Any Ubuntu Linux fans here?
I run it on my Dell laptop.
I'm actually sort of a Linux newbie, but it runs a lot faster than Vista ever was and darned if I was paying $200 for Windows 7.

Yep. My desktop machine plus a web/print/file server, and the other half's laptop as well.

Mandriva puts Ubuntu to shame. Free if you want or pay $30+ for full support.
Best Linux system out there for the plug and play crowd trying to matriculate from Windows.
I had a long running thread on here a while back regarding my attempts to install Ubuntu on a Sony machine -- that thread includes my discovery of Mandriva.
Either way, Windows is now ditchable for even computer clutzes like me.

I would be willing to give Mandriva a try for the kids' computer, but man oh man I am not fond of RPM's. It was RPM hell that drove me to Debian in the first place. What the ____, I'm grabbing the "One" LiveCD now.
