They are athletic trainers. You can find waterboys in high school.

I would assume they do. At UL, our training staff got conference champ rings. And we have 1/10000000000000000th the budget.

Its up to the owners of the team as to who does and does not get rings.

The salaries for athletic trainers are set by the individual teams, just as they are for just about every other position on an NFL team/roster. I can tell you this for a fact, the Saints athletic trainers, outside of the head trainer, do not make much money. They do, however, get extra pay and bonuses if the team makes it to the playoffs and beyond.

How do you know this for a fact and how much is not much money?

Because I know several who have held those positions with a few different teams. Its less than what a teacher makes. That post about 100k+ is absolutely wrong, its not even close.

You are correct. Other than the Head ATC, they do not make much money when you factor in the hours they work and the travel. Their job does not end when the season is over. They are involved with medical history with scouting, offseason rehab, etc. Some may think of it as a glamorous job but it is not. College pay is basically the same type of scale, head guy makes the big bucks. Most outreach ATC's that work for physical therapy companies and cover high schools make more money than ATC assistants on the college level.

My Dad made a whopping $50 a game doing Xrays for the Saints, Tulane football, the Sugar Bowl, and the Superbowl.

Problem with college and NFL assistant positions is they are highly sought after by the 22-34 age group of ATC's so the teams/schools know they don't need to pay top dollar. They know someone will do the job just to say they work for some NFL team or major D1 program.
