The Delachaise. Right here on St. Charles, also fried in duck fat. Best fries I've ever had.

Runner up, La Boca in the warehouse district.

As far as fast food goes, the only place with fresh cut potatoes is In-N-Out, but they ain't around here.

Checker's has the only fast food fries worth the lard.

Checkers' fries are less-crispy versions of Popeyes' fries. Popeyes superior, Checkers inferior!

in-n-out burger. Takes about 20 minutes to get your "fast food" but their fries are awesome.

- Really?? I'm a big In-n-Out fan (see Wendy's Patties thread), but I don't find their fries to be anything special........ As for Checkers/Rally's fries- I remember liking them when they first came out like 20 years ago, but then they seemed to get old real quick. Maybe I just ate them so often that I burned myself out on them (I have a tendency to do that), but it just seems like they're a bit "overly" seasoned, if that's possible..........

Popeyes fries always seem like they are marinated in grease and soggy.

Wendys fries are pretty good when you dip them in a frosty.

- So I need to add an addendum to my original post. I went on over to In n Out tonight and decided to experiment a little with my to-go order. Though I've often oredered the "Animal-Style" burger off of their "secret" menu (they call it a secret menu, but everyone in the state knows about it)- tonight I decided to get the regular Double-Double combo with the fries Animal-Style, meaning they add grilled onions, cheese and special sauce on top of the fries. I gotta say: this is now the new play-of-the-day for me... It really adds to the fries, especially when you sprinkle some Tony Chachere's on it like I did. I was less than thrilled, however, that this brought the $5.66 that I normally pay for a combo up to $7.39 ... guess you ahve to pay to play. Here is a link to the "Secret Menu" for anyone who cares:

Ron's Drive-In on Sprague in the Spokane Valley. Crispy outside, tender inside. A perfect balance of everything a french fry should be.
